Intersections Romance
Intersections Romance™
Intersections Romance™ is a new book series comprised of short, standalone love stories celebrating people whose bodies or minds grow outside the usual lines—intersex, autistic, and other overlooked traits—finding the joyful, grace-filled romance they were always meant for, and written from a gentle Christian perspective.
It’s been accepted by Wipf and Stock publishers, with the first book due in 2026.
* Divergent: In the publishing process
* Chrysalis: Ready to submit
* Toast: Story complete, in final editing stage
* Resonance: Story 80%
AUDIENCE:
- Maturity: 16+ (Young Adult and up): Chrysalis contains mature themes including sexual intimacy (tastefully described, non-graphic), discussions of gender dysphoria, intersex conditions, infertility, and spiritual doubt/crisis. While “closed-door” to avoid explicit detail, the emotional intensity and adult relationship dynamics make it unsuitable for younger teens.
- Primary: Readers of contemporary Christian romance and inspirational fiction, particularly women aged 25–55 who enjoy stories blending faith, redemption, and emotional depth with mature themes.
- Secondary: Neurodivergent and LGBTQ+/intersex readers seeking affirming, faith-based narratives that explore identity, acceptance, and unconditional love without condemnation.
- Niche Crossovers: Clean romance enthusiasts who appreciate unconventional heroes (e.g. neurodivergent millionaire + unique gender journey) and themes of grace over legalism.
What Does "Intersections" Romance Mean?
- We each have a path through life. We meet someone when our paths cross, and where two paths cross is an intersection.
- The word also quietly nods to intersectionality — the idea that different aspects of identity (such as gender, bodily variation, neurodivergence, ability, and more) overlap and shape each person’s experiences in unique ways. In these stories, love happens at the beautiful, complex intersections of who we truly are, as wonderfully and intentionally created by God.
Intersections Romance™ Books:
Divergent: In the cutthroat corporate tech world, neurodivergent genius Mark Stanford pitches a revolutionary guest app to a hospitality giant and wins the contract. He hires a perceptive executive assistant whose efficiency shields him from overload. As pressures mount, their bond uncovers secrets, sparking questions of identity, faith, and love’s divine purpose.
- Chrysalis: A struggling young man in New York stumbles into an unexpected opportunity through a prestigious talent agency. What begins as a simple audition spirals into a profound journey of self-discovery, hidden truths, transformation, and romance. In a world of glamour and possibility, one person must confront who they truly are—and who they might become.
- Toast: The oldest, most prestigious fraternity at Ivy League Hawthorne desperately needs a contestant for the century-old, two-day crossdressing pageant The Toast of Hawthorne. They choose freshman pledge Steven Maddox—the most naturally convincing candidate—but the traits that make him perfect run deeper than anyone expects, and the intense feminine training awakens feelings that threaten every romantic hope he once held.
- Resonance: A young intersex man meets a romance-traumatized young woman through an exclusive and vetted dating service. They know they like each other, but can their affection blossom into love?
- Other titles in development in this series include Standpoint, Romantic Crossroads, Lineage, War, Emergent, Unchanged, Evolutions, Reversal, and Nova.
Types of Divergences of Main Characters

- These include: Autism & other neurodivergent issues, Down syndrome, Dwarfism, Gender dysphoria, Intersex, Physical trauma, or Progeria.
- If you have suggestions for other causes of divergence for an Intersections Romance story, please let me know.
